The CT2 Lever Espresso Machine

Direct control over pre-infusion, pressure, and flow.

The CT2 manual lever espresso machine embodies precision and reliability for those who value manual control and refined craftsmanship. Manufactured in the Netherlands, the main metal components are CNC-machined from high-grade materials to exacting standards, ensuring smooth operation and enduring performance.

At its core, the CT2 features a solid brass boiler lined with food-grade stainless steel 316, offering optimal thermal stability and resistance to corrosion. The lead-free brass piston and the FDA-approved EPDM and silicone seals custom made for Strietman ensure a pure brewing environment, free from plastics or PTFE.

The CT2 is responsive across a range of roast styles, from delicate, floral light roasts to richer, more syrupy extractions. Its lever mechanism lets you explore pressure and flow with intent, drawing out nuance, clarity, and body from each coffee. It invites a slower rhythm, one that brings attention to both process and taste.

The 350cc open boiler and saturated brew group provide intuitive control over each extraction, accommodating a range of roast profiles. With a heat-up time of just 8 minutes and a responsive temperature dial, the CT2 seamlessly integrates into daily rituals. Its open design facilitates straightforward cleaning and maintenance.

  • The brass and copper parts are polished to a high shine and left unlacquered. They will age naturally over time, forming a rich patina that reflects its environment. The original shine can be maintained using metal polish if you prefer.

For those who prefer a surface that develops with use. The copper and brass exterior parts are hand-treated to a deep patina by a professional burnishing specialist in the Netherlands. Uncoated and raw, the finish begins changing from the first day of use. Contact points deepen and shift in tone over time. Each machine becomes progressively more its own.

  • Applied entirely by hand in the Netherlands by a professional burnishing specialist. No two machines will age identically.

  • With use, the patina will evolve, deepening in some areas, lifting in others where the surface is handled regularly or comes into contact with coffee. Where the patina lifts, the underlying brass becomes visible. This is the same brass, untreated, and will continue to age naturally from there.

  • The aged brass finish is an exterior treatment only. The piston is made from food-safe brass compliant with European standards. The brew group and filter holder are CNC-milled from high-quality brass sourced from Germany. The brew path is lined with 316 stainless steel.

Hand operated precision

Traditional machines rely on electromechanical systems to generate nine bars of pressure for espresso. With the CT2, this pressure is produced entirely by hand. The robust lever action is low maintenance by design, and allows dynamic microadjustments throughout the brew. As you master your technique, the CT2 encourages you to trust your senses and reconnect with the coffeemaking process.

Minimalism in motion

Set your temperature and wait for the CT2 to warm up. When the lever is depressed, a column of heated water is driven through the ground coffee and into the cup. The 8mm brass group with integrated heater regulates water temperature throughout the extraction, and the naked portafilter reveals the quality of every shot you pull.

Complete control

Coffee is a natural product, producing different flavour notes based on the bean’s origin, roast profile, and age. With its responsive temperature dial and variable pressure control, the CT2 makes it easy to dial in any grade of espresso. Users of every level are rewarded with a richly aromatic brew, with limitless scope for fine-tuning and experimentation.
